Brandy Mace Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups Crisco
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 12 eggs
- 4 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mace
- 3 tablespoons brandy
Method
- 1 Cream Crisco and sugar thoroughly together.
- 2 Add well-beaten egg yolks, then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
- 3 Mix in brandy, flour, salt, and mace lightly and quickly.
- 4 Turn into a papered cake pan and bake at 300°F for 1 hour 20 minutes.
