Brandy Mace Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups Crisco
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 12 eggs
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mace
  • 3 tablespoons brandy

Method

  1. 1 Cream Crisco and sugar thoroughly together.
  2. 2 Add well-beaten egg yolks, then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
  3. 3 Mix in brandy, flour, salt, and mace lightly and quickly.
  4. 4 Turn into a papered cake pan and bake at 300°F for 1 hour 20 minutes.
