Braised Rump Steak With Bacon And Wine
Ingredients
- 1 rump steak
- lean ham, diced
- salt and pepper
- spice blend
- fat bacon slices
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup stock
- ½ cup white wine
- butter
- 1 clove garlic (optional)
Method
- 1 Lard the rump steak with bits of lean ham and season with salt, pepper, and spice.
- 2 Slightly brown the steak in butter for a few minutes.
- 3 Cover the steak with slices of fat bacon.
- 4 Place in a stewpan with chopped onion, stock, and white wine.
- 5 Cover and cook for about an hour. Add garlic for the last 10 minutes if desired.
