Braised Lamb Chops With Root Vegetables
Ingredients
- 1 onion, chopped fine
- 1 small carrot, chopped fine
- 1 turnip, chopped fine
- Butter
- 6 to 8 lamb chops
- Stock or water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Browned flour
Method
- 1 Chop the onion, carrot, and turnip finely. Fry them in butter until browned, then transfer to a casserole dish.
- 2 Place the lamb chops, previously browned in butter, on top of the vegetables in the casserole.
- 3 Add a little stock or water, season to taste, and cover the dish tightly.
- 4 Cook until the meat is tender. Thicken the gravy with browned flour and serve directly from the casserole.
