Braised Beef Roast With Onions And Carrots
Ingredients
- 6 lb beef cross-cut (chuck or bolar)
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 medium onions
- 1 carrot, cut into quarters
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
Method
- 1 Wipe the beef with a damp cloth and pat 1/2 cup flour onto the meat.
- 2 Brown the meat quickly on both sides in a frying pan.
- 3 Place the meat in a fireless cooker or moderate oven (350°F) along with onions, carrot, and boiling water.
- 4 Cook slowly, allowing 30 minutes for the meat to start, then 25 minutes per pound. Baste frequently.
