Boiling Water Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fat
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method

  1. 1 Measure fat into a mixing bowl and pour boiling water over it.
  2. 2 Stir until the fat is softened and melted.
  3. 3 Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. 4 Stir the dry ingredients into the water and fat mixture.
  5. 5 Divide the dough into two portions.
  6. 6 Roll out for crusts.
  7. 7 If baking blind, prick well with a fork to prevent bubbles.
