Boiling Water Pie Crust
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fat
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Method
- 1 Measure fat into a mixing bowl and pour boiling water over it.
- 2 Stir until the fat is softened and melted.
- 3 Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- 4 Stir the dry ingredients into the water and fat mixture.
- 5 Divide the dough into two portions.
- 6 Roll out for crusts.
- 7 If baking blind, prick well with a fork to prevent bubbles.
