Boiling Water Molasses Ginger Snaps

  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoons fat
  • ½ cup boiling water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon ginger
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cloves
  • about 4 cups flour

Method

  1. 1 Mix molasses, fat, and boiling water in a bowl.
  2. 2 Sift together 1 cup flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, salt, and cloves.
  3. 3 Add dry ingredients to wet mixture, then add enough flour (about 4 cups total) to make a stiff dough.
