Boiled White Rice
Ingredients
- rice
- cold water
- salt
- hot water
- cold water
Method
- 1 Wash the rice thoroughly in cold water until the water runs clear and rice flour is removed.
- 2 Bring a pot of water to a fast boil with a small amount of salt.
- 3 Add the rice to the boiling water and boil for 15 minutes or slightly longer.
- 4 Test for doneness by rubbing a grain between your fingers; it should rub away completely.
- 5 Drain the rice in a colander and rinse with hot water, then pour cold water over it.
- 6 Return the rice to the saucepan, cover, and keep near the heat until ready to serve.
