Boiled Salted Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 large spoonful salt
  • plenty of boiling water

Method

  1. 1 Clean and wash the cabbage thoroughly. Quarter it if the head is very large.
  2. 2 Place the cabbage in a saucepan with plenty of boiling water. Skim off any scum that rises.
  3. 3 Add a large spoonful of salt. Boil until the stalks feel tender, keeping the cabbage submerged.
