Boiled Parsnips And Carrots With Butter

  • parsnips
  • carrots
  • salt and water
  • meat (optional)
  • butter
  • pepper
  • slices of salt meat (optional)
  • salt

Method

  1. 1 Scrape and split the parsnips. Boil them in salted water or with meat until quite soft.
  2. 2 Serve the boiled parsnips with plenty of butter. Alternatively, bake them with slices of salt meat seasoned only with pepper, or form into small cakes seasoned with butter, pepper, and salt, then fry.
  3. 3 Scrape the carrots and boil them in plenty of water until soft.
  4. 4 Remove the carrots, slice them thin, and season with salt, pepper, and butter. Serve with boiled meat or fowls.
