Boiled Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 quart cranberries
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1½ cups water
  • pinch of baking soda

Method

  1. 1 Wash the cranberries and make a small slit in each berry.
  2. 2 In a kettle, combine the water, cranberries, sugar, and a pinch of baking soda.
  3. 3 Cover the kettle closely and bring to a boil. Do not stir or lift the lid.
  4. 4 Once boiling, cook for exactly five minutes, then remove from heat and let cool completely covered.
