Boiled Cod And Potato Balls
Ingredients
- codfish, boiled and picked fine
- boiled potatoes, mashed
- milk
- butter
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- salt and pepper to taste
- flour for rolling
Method
- 1 Boil codfish, changing water once to reduce saltiness. Pick the hot fish very fine by hand.
- 2 Mash hot boiled potatoes thoroughly until creamy, mixing in milk and a generous lump of butter.
- 3 Combine 3 cups mashed potatoes with 1.5 cups flaked fish. Stir in the beaten egg and season to taste.
- 4 Beat the mixture well until light, then mold into small balls, handling gently.
- 5 Roll the balls in flour and fry in smoking hot fat until golden brown.
