  • slices of Allinson bread
  • raspberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • 1 pint milk

Method

  1. 1 Grease a pudding basin and fill it with slices of bread spread thickly with raspberry jam.
  2. 2 Dissolve 1 tablespoon of cornflour in 1 pint of well-beaten milk.
  3. 3 Bring the milk mixture to a boil, then pour it over the bread and jam.
  4. 4 Let the mixture stand for 1 hour.
  5. 5 Boil the pudding for 1 hour while covered with a pudding cloth.
  6. 6 Turn out of the basin and serve hot or cold.
