Boiled Asparagus On Buttered Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch asparagus
  • 1 slice bread, ½ inch thick
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • Melted butter

Method

  1. 1 Scrape asparagus stalks clean, rinse in cold water, and tie into bundles.
  2. 2 Boil water with salt, skim, and add asparagus bundles. Cook 20-30 minutes until tender.
  3. 3 Toast bread slice until golden brown on both sides.
  4. 4 Dip toast briefly in asparagus cooking liquid, place on serving dish, and top with melted butter.
  5. 5 Arrange asparagus on toast and serve with remaining melted butter in a side boat.
