Boiled Asparagus On Buttered Toast
Ingredients
- 1 bunch asparagus
- 1 slice bread, ½ inch thick
- 1 tbsp salt
- Melted butter
Method
- 1 Scrape asparagus stalks clean, rinse in cold water, and tie into bundles.
- 2 Boil water with salt, skim, and add asparagus bundles. Cook 20-30 minutes until tender.
- 3 Toast bread slice until golden brown on both sides.
- 4 Dip toast briefly in asparagus cooking liquid, place on serving dish, and top with melted butter.
- 5 Arrange asparagus on toast and serve with remaining melted butter in a side boat.
