  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, unbeaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch grated nutmeg
  • 3 cups blueberries

Method

  1. 1 Cream 1 tablespoon butter with 1 cup sugar. Add an unbeaten egg and mix thoroughly.
  2. 2 Add 1 cup milk, then stir in 2 1/2 cups flour sifted with 3 teaspoons baking powder.
  3. 3 Add a pinch of grated nutmeg and gently fold in 3 cups blueberries.
  4. 4 Turn batter into buttered pans and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 35 minutes.
