Beetroot Fritters
Ingredients
- 1 small beet
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoonfuls meal
- ½ cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Butter or oil for frying
Method
- 1 Dice the beetroot into small pieces.
- 2 Whisk together the milk, meal, egg, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to form a batter.
- 3 Fold the diced beets into the batter.
- 4 Heat butter or oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- 5 Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot fat and fry until golden brown on all sides.
- 6 Serve immediately with vegetables and brown sauce.
