Ingredients

  • 1 small beet
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoonfuls meal
  • ½ cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Butter or oil for frying

Method

  1. 1 Dice the beetroot into small pieces.
  2. 2 Whisk together the milk, meal, egg, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to form a batter.
  3. 3 Fold the diced beets into the batter.
  4. 4 Heat butter or oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. 5 Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot fat and fry until golden brown on all sides.
  6. 6 Serve immediately with vegetables and brown sauce.
