Beef Steaks With Oyster Gravy
Ingredients
- 2 beef steaks
- 24 oysters, with their liquor
- 1 pint gravy
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
Method
- 1 Place oysters and their liquor in a stewpan. Bring to a boil, then drain oysters, reserving the liquid. Let the liquid settle and pour off the clear broth.
- 2 Combine the clear oyster liquor and gravy in a saucepan. Add butter and flour to thicken. Boil for 15 minutes, then add the oysters and keep warm.
- 3 Cook the beef steaks as usual. Place the cooked steak on a hot serving dish and pour the hot oyster sauce over it.
