Beef, Ham, And Egg Pot Pie

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs lean rump steak, cut into 3x1 inch strips
  • Water, enough to barely cover meat
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp fresh sweet thyme
  • 0.5 tsp white pepper
  • 0.5 pint sliced onions
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Thinly sliced cold ham
  • 7-8 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
  • Grated nutmeg
  • Pie crust pastry

Method

  1. 1 Place steak strips in a pot with enough boiling water to barely cover. Simmer slowly for 30 minutes.
  2. 2 Add parsley, thyme, white pepper, and onions. Stew until meat is tender.
  3. 3 Mix cornstarch with a little gravy, then stir back into the pot. Add salt and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. 4 Layer meat, sliced ham, and sliced hard-boiled eggs in a deep dish. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
  5. 5 Cover with pie crust and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
