Beef, Ham, And Egg Pot Pie
Ingredients
- 3 lbs lean rump steak, cut into 3x1 inch strips
- Water, enough to barely cover meat
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tsp fresh sweet thyme
- 0.5 tsp white pepper
- 0.5 pint sliced onions
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Thinly sliced cold ham
- 7-8 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
- Grated nutmeg
- Pie crust pastry
Method
- 1 Place steak strips in a pot with enough boiling water to barely cover. Simmer slowly for 30 minutes.
- 2 Add parsley, thyme, white pepper, and onions. Stew until meat is tender.
- 3 Mix cornstarch with a little gravy, then stir back into the pot. Add salt and Worcestershire sauce.
- 4 Layer meat, sliced ham, and sliced hard-boiled eggs in a deep dish. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
- 5 Cover with pie crust and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
