Beef Fat Yorkshire Pudding

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons beef fat
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon grated onion
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup beef gravy

Method

  1. 1 Pour beef fat into a baking pan and grease thoroughly. Heat the pan until the fat is hot.
  2. 2 In a bowl, combine milk, egg, salt, pepper, onion, flour, and baking powder. Beat for five minutes until smooth.
  3. 3 Pour the batter into the hot pan and bake in a 350°F oven for 20 minutes.
  4. 4 Near the end of baking, baste the pudding with beef gravy before serving.
