Beef Broth Dumplings
Ingredients
- 2 lbs stewing beef
- 1 soup bone
- 2 quarts water
- salt
- pepper
- 1½ cups flour
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
Method
- 1 Cook the stewing beef and soup bone in water until the meat is tender.
- 2 Remove the meat from the broth. Add water if necessary to ensure you have 2 quarts of broth.
- 3 Mix the beaten egg and milk into the flour to form a batter with the consistency of pancake batter.
- 4 Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the boiling broth to form small dumplings.
- 5 Cook the dumplings for 3 to 4 minutes.
