Beef Bone Broth With Gumbo And Vegetables
Ingredients
- trimmings of roast beef
- beef-steak bones
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 2 tsp salt
- 3 potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 carrot
- 1/2 onion
- 3 gumbo pods
- 1/2 bay leaf
- chopped parsley
- caramel (for color)
Method
- 1 Boil beef trimmings and bones for three hours.
- 2 Cool the broth and skim off the fat.
- 3 Add pepper, salt, potatoes, carrot, onion, gumbo pods, bay leaf, and parsley.
- 4 Simmer until vegetables are tender, add caramel for color, and serve hot.
