Beef And Rice Stew
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, interlarded (fat-streaked), sliced thin
- 1 cup clean, picked rice
- 1 tsp whole black pepper
- 2-3 whole onions
Method
- 1 Place the sliced beef in a heavy pot with a tight-fitting lid.
- 2 Add the washed rice, whole peppercorns, and whole onions to the pot.
- 3 Cover with water, bring to a boil, then simmer until the rice and beef are tender.
- 4 Remove the whole onions. Serve the stew hot over toasted bread slices (sippets).
