Beaten Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 quart flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 large heaping tbsp butter
  • milk as needed

Method

  1. 1 Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together into a large bowl.
  2. 2 Cut in the butter and add enough milk to form a stiff dough.
  3. 3 Beat the dough vigorously with a rolling pin or biscuit beater for 10-15 minutes until it blisters.
  4. 4 Roll the dough out to about half an inch thick.
  5. 5 Prick the dough well with a fork.
  6. 6 Bake in a quick oven (425°F) until golden brown.
