Banana Ladyfinger Trifle
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 heaping teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 bananas
- 6 ladyfingers
- 1/2 pint heavy cream
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Method
- 1 Slice bananas and layer them in a glass dish with four split ladyfingers.
- 2 Combine milk, water, sugar, salt, and cornstarch in a saucepan.
- 3 Cook over heat until thickened, then pour over the banana and ladyfinger layers.
- 4 Allow the mixture to cool completely.
- 5 Top with whipped cream or sweetened whipped egg white.
- 6 Garnish the edge with the remaining split ladyfingers.
