Banana Fritters With Banana Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup banana pulp
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 egg whites, beaten stiff
- oil for deep frying
- banana sauce for serving
Method
- 1 In a mixing bowl, beat together banana pulp, sugar, egg yolks, and shortening until well combined.
- 2 Add flour and baking powder to the wet mixture and beat until smooth.
- 3 Gently fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites until just incorporated.
- 4 Fry spoonfuls of batter in deep fat until golden brown.
- 5 Serve immediately with banana sauce.
