Banana Cake With Jelly Sauce

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 4 bananas
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons jelly
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Method

  1. 1 Sift flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt into a bowl.
  2. 2 Add milk and beaten eggs; mix well.
  3. 3 Peel and slice bananas in half lengthwise, then across.
  4. 4 Pour batter into a greased shallow pan and place bananas on top.
  5. 5 Sprinkle with sugar and bake in a 350°F oven for 15 minutes.
  6. 6 For sauce, boil water, jelly, and sugar; stir in cornstarch mixed with cold water and boil 3 minutes.
