Baking Powder Parker House Rolls
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 to 4 tablespoons shortening
- 1½ cups milk
Method
- 1 Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together in a large bowl.
- 2 Add melted shortening to milk, then slowly pour into dry ingredients, stirring until smooth.
- 3 Knead lightly on a floured board, then roll out to one-half inch thick.
- 4 Cut with a biscuit cutter. Crease each circle with the back of a knife on one side of the center.
- 5 Butter the small section and fold the larger part over it. Place one inch apart in a greased pan.
- 6 Let rise 15 minutes in a warm place. Brush with melted butter and bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
