Baking Powder Bread
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 6 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup cold water
Method
- 1 In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Sift the mixture three times to ensure thorough mixing.
- 2 Slowly add cold water to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough of the right consistency forms.
- 3 Quickly shape the dough into four loaves and place them immediately into a moderate oven (350°F).
- 4 Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the loaves are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
