Baked Yeasted Cornbread
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
Method
- 1 Pour boiling water over 1/4 cup of the cornmeal and mix with warm water to form a thick batter.
- 2 Stir in yeast and salt. Let rise near warmth until the top begins to bubble and open.
- 3 Grease a baking pan or Dutch oven. Pour in batter and bake at 350°F until golden and cooked through.
