Baked Yeasted Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt

Method

  1. 1 Pour boiling water over 1/4 cup of the cornmeal and mix with warm water to form a thick batter.
  2. 2 Stir in yeast and salt. Let rise near warmth until the top begins to bubble and open.
  3. 3 Grease a baking pan or Dutch oven. Pour in batter and bake at 350°F until golden and cooked through.
