Baked Wheat Cereal And Cheese Loaf
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup milk
- 7 tablespoons wheat cereal
- 1 egg, well-beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Grated cheese
- Butter
Method
- 1 Bring water and milk to a boil in a saucepan.
- 2 Slowly stir in wheat cereal and cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 3 Remove from heat and beat in the egg and salt until well mixed.
- 4 Pour mixture into a loaf-shaped pan and let it firm up.
- 5 Turn out onto a board, cut into blocks, and place in a greased baking dish.
- 6 Sprinkle with grated cheese, dot with butter, and bake at 425°F until golden.
