Baked Walnut Loaf
Ingredients
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1½ cups English walnut meats, chopped exceedingly fine
- 4 cups bread crumbs, grated
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt to taste
- Milk, as needed to moisten
Method
- 1 Chop the walnut meats exceedingly fine.
- 2 Beat the eggs and mix with the walnuts, bread crumbs, butter, and salt.
- 3 Add enough milk to moisten the mixture so it holds together like a loaf; avoid making it mushy.
- 4 Press the mixture into a buttered bread pan or baking dish.
- 5 Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until set.
- 6 Serve hot with tomato sauce, peas, or salad.
