Baked Veal With White Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 lb veal, finely minced
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. In a baking dish, layer the minced veal and bread crumbs, seasoning each layer with salt and pepper and dotting with butter.
- 2 Make a white sauce by melting 1 tablespoon butter, whisking in flour, then adding milk. Stir until thickened.
- 3 Pour the white sauce over the layered veal and crumbs. Top with a final layer of bread crumbs.
- 4 Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown and the dish is heated through.
