Baked Vanilla Custard

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 quart milk

Method

  1. 1 Beat eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla together.
  2. 2 Scald milk and add slowly to egg mixture, stirring constantly.
  3. 3 Pour into greased baking dish or small molds.
  4. 4 Place in a pan of water in a 300°F oven and bake 30 to 40 minutes until a knife inserted comes out clean.
