Baked Vanilla Custard
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 quart milk
Method
- 1 Beat eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla together.
- 2 Scald milk and add slowly to egg mixture, stirring constantly.
- 3 Pour into greased baking dish or small molds.
- 4 Place in a pan of water in a 300°F oven and bake 30 to 40 minutes until a knife inserted comes out clean.
