Baked Vanilla Custard Puddings
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 pint milk
- few drops vanilla, almond, or lemon extract
- butter for greasing
- sugar and cream for serving
- strips of Canton ginger (optional)
Method
- 1 Beat 2 eggs with 1 teaspoon sugar thoroughly but do not froth.
- 2 Slowly add 1/2 pint milk and a few drops of flavoring essence.
- 3 Pour mixture into a buttered mold or individual molds.
- 4 Place molds in a pan of hot water and bake until firm.
- 5 Chill thoroughly, then turn out onto a serving dish.
- 6 Serve with sugar and cream; garnish with ginger strips if desired.
