Baked Tomato Onion Gratin
Ingredients
- tomatoes, sliced
- onions, sliced (fried or parboiled)
- salt
- pepper
- butter
- breadcrumbs
- grated cheese (optional)
Method
- 1 Butter a baking dish.
- 2 Layer sliced tomatoes and fried or parboiled onions in the dish.
- 3 Season each layer with salt, pepper, and butter, then sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
- 4 Cover the top with breadcrumbs and dot with butter.
- 5 Bake for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with grated cheese if desired before serving.
