Baked Tomato Casserole With Butter And Breadcrumbs
Ingredients
- large ripe tomatoes
- fine breadcrumbs
- salt
- pepper
- butter
Method
- 1 Peel the skin from the ripe tomatoes.
- 2 Place a layer of tomatoes in the bottom of a deep dish.
- 3 Cover with fine breadcrumbs, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and dot with bits of butter.
- 4 Repeat layers until the dish is full, ensuring the top is covered with crumbs and butter.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until nicely browned.
