Baked Stuffed Green Peppers With Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 6 green peppers
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp mixed mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Celery salt to taste
  • Grated nutmeg to taste
  • 1 egg, well-beaten
  • 2 cups shelled and broken shrimps
  • Grated bread crumbs, as needed
  • Butter, for dotting

Method

  1. 1 Cut stem ends off peppers; remove seeds and veins. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain.
  2. 2 Melt 1 tbsp butter. Stir in mustard, salt, pepper, celery salt, and nutmeg. Mix in beaten egg.
  3. 3 Add shrimps and enough bread crumbs to form a smooth paste. Fill peppers with mixture.
  4. 4 Place peppers open-side up in a baking pan. Cover tops with crumbs and dot with butter.
  5. 5 Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes until peppers are tender and topping is golden.
