Baked Stuffed Apples With Almonds
Ingredients
- 6 apples
- 1/4 cup dates
- 1/4 cup nuts
- 1/4 cup figs or marmalade
- 1/4 cup corn syrup or honey
- blanched almonds
Method
- 1 Core the apples and cut a line around the apple just through the skin.
- 2 Mix dates, nuts, figs or marmalade, corn syrup, and honey. Fill the center of each apple with the mixture.
- 3 Place apples in a baking pan with 1/4 inch of water and bake for 30 minutes.
- 4 Stick blanched almonds into the outside of the apples to resemble porcupine quills.
