Baked Stewed Plum Pasties
Ingredients
- 6 ounces whole wheat flour
- 2 ounces white flour
- 3 ounces butter
- Stewed French plums, pitted
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
- 1 Make a paste by mixing the flours, butter, water, and half the beaten egg.
- 2 Roll the dough out thin and cut into four-inch squares.
- 3 Place a pitted stewed French plum in the center of each square.
- 4 Moisten the edges with water, fold the squares over, and brush with remaining egg.
- 5 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 15 to 20 minutes.
