Baked Steak With Tomatoes And Cheese
Ingredients
- 2 lbs round or chuck steak
- Flour for dredging
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup sliced onions
- 1 cup well-drained tomatoes
- Salt and paprika to taste
- 4 tbsp grated cheese
Method
- 1 Cut steak into portions, wipe clean with a damp cloth, pat with flour, and place in a baking dish.
- 2 Bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 20 minutes, basting every 10 minutes with 1 cup of boiling water.
- 3 Add sliced onions and drained tomatoes to the dish. Return to oven and bake for 15 minutes.
- 4 Remove from oven, season with salt and paprika, sprinkle with grated cheese, and bake for 5 more minutes.
