Baked Squash Biscuits
Ingredients
- 3 ½ cups sifted flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 5 tsp baking powder
- 5 tbsp shortening
- 1 cup prepared squash pulp
- milk for brushing
Method
- 1 Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
- 2 Rub in shortening, then mix in squash pulp to form a dough.
- 3 Roll dough to ¾-inch thickness on a floured board.
- 4 Cut into shapes, brush tops with milk, and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 15 minutes.
