Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups sifted flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 tsp baking powder
  • 5 tbsp shortening
  • 1 cup prepared squash pulp
  • milk for brushing

Method

  1. 1 Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. 2 Rub in shortening, then mix in squash pulp to form a dough.
  3. 3 Roll dough to ¾-inch thickness on a floured board.
  4. 4 Cut into shapes, brush tops with milk, and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 15 minutes.
