Baked Sole With Mushroom Cheddar Sauce

Ingredients

  • filleted soles
  • water
  • butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • milk
  • pepper
  • salt
  • powdered Cheddar cheese
  • washed and chopped mushrooms
  • cream

Method

  1. 1 Boil the filleted soles in water until cooked through.
  2. 2 Make a sauce by melting butter, whisking in flour, then adding milk, pepper, salt, and powdered Cheddar cheese. Simmer until thickened.
  3. 3 Stir in the washed, chopped mushrooms and a little cream into the sauce.
  4. 4 Place the filets on a dish, pour the sauce over them, and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 15 minutes until slightly browned.
