Baked Smelts With Mushrooms And Bread Crumbs
Ingredients
- smelts
- button mushrooms
- 1 shallot
- 1 sprig parsley
- lemon juice
- pepper and salt
- browned bread crumbs
- butter
- melted glaze
Method
- 1 Lay smelts on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with finely chopped parsley, shallot, mushrooms, lemon juice, pepper, and salt.
- 2 Cover with browned bread crumbs and dot with small bits of butter.
- 3 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 7-10 minutes.
- 4 Transfer to a hot dish and pour melted glaze over the top.
