Baked Scallops With Mushroom Cream Sauce

Ingredients

  • Scallops (quantity desired)
  • 2 tablespoonfuls butter
  • 1 tablespoonful chopped onion
  • 1/2 cupful chopped mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoonfuls flour
  • 1 cupful milk
  • Buttered bread crumbs

Method

  1. 1 Clean scallops, parboil for 15 minutes, drain, and cut into small pieces.
  2. 2 Melt butter in a frying pan, sauté onion, and add mushrooms. Brown the mixture.
  3. 3 Stir in flour and milk. Cook until thickened, then add the scallops.
  4. 4 Fill scallop shells with the mixture, sprinkle with buttered bread crumbs, and bake until brown.
