Baked Scalloped Cauliflower With Cheese Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower
- 2 Tb. butter
- 2 Tb. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. water from cauliflower
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Dash of pepper
- 1 c. buttered crumbs
Method
- 1 Break cauliflower into flowerets and cook in boiling salted water until tender. Drain.
- 2 Melt butter, stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Add milk and cauliflower water; cook until thickened.
- 3 Butter crumbs with 1 tbsp melted butter. Layer crumbs, half cauliflower, more crumbs, and remaining cauliflower in a dish.
- 4 Pour sauce over cauliflower. Top with remaining crumbs. Bake in a hot oven (425°F) until browned and heated through.
