Baked Scalloped Cauliflower With Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 2 Tb. butter
  • 2 Tb. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. water from cauliflower
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1 c. buttered crumbs

Method

  1. 1 Break cauliflower into flowerets and cook in boiling salted water until tender. Drain.
  2. 2 Melt butter, stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Add milk and cauliflower water; cook until thickened.
  3. 3 Butter crumbs with 1 tbsp melted butter. Layer crumbs, half cauliflower, more crumbs, and remaining cauliflower in a dish.
  4. 4 Pour sauce over cauliflower. Top with remaining crumbs. Bake in a hot oven (425°F) until browned and heated through.
