Baked Rhubarb Custard Puffs
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 5 tablespoons shortening
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup finely chopped raw rhubarb
Method
- 1 Combine sugar, water, and shortening in a bowl.
- 2 Add egg, flour, baking powder, salt, and chopped rhubarb. Beat to mix.
- 3 Fill well-greased custard cups with the batter.
- 4 Bake for 30 minutes in a hot oven (425°F).
