Baked Polenta And Cheese Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 quart water
- 1 large spoonful butter
- corn meal
- salt
- sliced cheese
- butter
Method
- 1 Wet corn meal with cold water in a bowl, add salt, and stir until smooth.
- 2 Bring a quart of water with a large spoonful of butter to a boil.
- 3 Add the corn meal mixture to the boiling water, stirring continually until thick and done.
- 4 Shape the polenta into a ball, let it cool completely, then slice thinly.
- 5 Layer slices of polenta, cheese, and butter bits in a deep dish, repeating until full.
- 6 Top with cheese and butter slices, then bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 20-30 minutes.
