Baked Plum Custard
Ingredients
- Plums, apricots, or similar fruit
- Sugar
- White wine, sack, claret, or rose water
- Pastry paste
- Cream
- Eggs (optional)
- Sugar for topping
Method
- 1 Place plums or apricots in a dish with sugar and a splash of wine or rose water.
- 2 Cover the dish with pastry paste to seal it, then bake until the fruit is tender.
- 3 Remove from oven and let cool completely.
- 4 Prepare a custard by boiling cream with eggs (or use plain cream).
- 5 Pour the cream over the cold fruit and sprinkle with additional sugar before serving.
