Baked Peach Cinnamon Roll
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 5 tbsp shortening
- 2/3 cup ice-cold water
- Flour for rolling
- Peaches, sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup syrup
- 5 tbsp water
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- Crushed and sweetened peaches for serving
Method
- 1 Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and 3 tbsp sugar.
- 2 Rub in shortening and mix with ice-cold water to form a dough.
- 3 Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface.
- 4 Top with sliced peaches, then sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.
- 5 Roll up like a jelly roll, tucking in ends, and place in a greased pan.
- 6 Bake in a 350°F oven for 45 minutes, basting every 10 minutes with syrup mixture.
- 7 Serve cold with crushed sweetened peaches.
