Baked Parmesan Macaroni
Ingredients
- 1/4 lb macaroni, broken into 1-inch pieces
- 3 pints water
- 1 large pinch salt
- 1 oz fresh butter
- 1 small pinch white pepper
- 2 oz or more grated Parmesan cheese
Method
- 1 Bring 3 pints of water to a boil with a large pinch of salt in a large saucepan.
- 2 Add broken macaroni and boil rapidly for 20-25 minutes until done. Strain through a colander.
- 3 Return macaroni to the saucepan with butter, white pepper, and salt. Shake over heat for 1-2 minutes.
- 4 Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted. Serve immediately with toast.
