Baked Parmesan Cheese Custard

Ingredients

  • 1 quart milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 6 oz grated cheese (Parmesan preferred)
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. 1 Heat the milk in a saucepan.
  2. 2 Whip the eggs well in a bowl. Stir in the grated cheese, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3 Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg mixture while stirring constantly to temper the eggs.
  4. 4 Pour the mixture into a buttered pie dish.
  5. 5 Bake in a 400°F oven until the custard is set and lightly browned.
