Baked Parmesan Cheese Custard
Ingredients
- 1 quart milk
- 6 eggs
- 6 oz grated cheese (Parmesan preferred)
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- 1 Heat the milk in a saucepan.
- 2 Whip the eggs well in a bowl. Stir in the grated cheese, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- 3 Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg mixture while stirring constantly to temper the eggs.
- 4 Pour the mixture into a buttered pie dish.
- 5 Bake in a 400°F oven until the custard is set and lightly browned.
